type: game
purpose: cooperation, communication, team-work
no. of players: 10 -12 people
time: 20-30 min
prep time: 5 min
materials: sheet or carpet
RPG: no

Story: there was a storm. Your raft has capsized. You have to turn it around, but you can’t get off: the waters you are in are swarming with hungry sharks.

Goal: turn the sheet upside down without stepping off it.

  • Spread a blanket or sheet (raft) on the floor and ask team members to stand on it.
  • The goal is to flip the sheet over while staying on it and without touching the floor outside the fabric.

This exercise requires clear communication, cooperation and a good sense of humour. It is a great way to get the team thinking about cooperation, organization, strategy, and trust.

  • How was it?
  • What happened?
  • What do you take from it?
